- N64 game
N64 Converter to HDMI
N64 is notorious for its difficulty in setting up on a modern TV among all the other retro consoles. The easiest and most effective way of connecting it to a new TV is to get an N64 converter to HDMI. Among all the other the most effective one is the Eon Super 64. It is a little expensive but is very easy to use than all the other available options.
This adapter plugs into your N64 video output. All you have to do now is to connect this Super 64 adapter to your TV via an HDMI cable. The adapter feels good quality and also doesn't look bad connection to the console. This adapter converts the 240p signals of N64 or 480i S-video signals to HDMI signals. Giving you a much better video quality in that way.
This adapter is helpful because most modern TVs don't have composite ports or SCART ports. Also, modern HD TVs cannot catch 240p signals or any S-video signals as the S-video Quality is really bad. This adapter improves the video quality to a whole new level.
RCA Composite and SCART Ports
This is a very common and cheap way to connect your TV to an N64. Find your HDTV's RCA composite or SCART ports. To use the SCART port, you'll need an RCA to SCART converter. All you have to do is connect your RCA cable to the composite connectors or SCART port.
Another way is to connect the console with the antenna port. After that just tune in the N64 console to one of your TV channels. If your TV doesn't have an RCA composite or SCART port, use the component port or the Antenna in port.
S-video to HDMI converter
If you are looking for cheaper options to do your work, you should go for this option. Get yourself a composite to HDMI also known as RCA to HDMI converter. You can easily find some cheap options on different online sites. Although, the video quality isn't very good with this option.
You'll experience lag and colour bleeding by using these adapters. The reason behind this is that they'll not be able to effectively convert the signals.
